Aston Villa v Hull 4th May 2009 Premier League

Aston Villa v Hull 8pm Premiership Preview

Phil Brown will be looking for the commitment and desire shown at home last week against Liverpool but unfortunately will be without Caleb Folan after he picked up a red card in that match. It is well documented that Hull came out of the blocks really quickly and then have only won once in the last 18 matches. Tigers favourite Andy Dawson maybe be missing at left back and Jimmy Bullard is out for the rest of the season with a knee problem that will be massively dissappointing for all at Hull City.

Martin O'Neil's team will be equally motivated tonight to show Everton that they are still fighting for a Champions League place. The Toffees went a point ahead of Aston Villa after comfortably beating Sunderland 0-2. Former Spurs and Charlton defender Luke Young has been superb this season for the Villa but could be missing due to a recurring foot injury. Agbonlahor and Reo-Coker could also be doubts for Villa's starting line-up.

After accusing Cesc Fabregas of spitting at assistant manager Brian Horton and Wenger of not shaking his hand, Phil Brown is certainly a unique football manager. He is impressive in interviews in terms of his coaching expertise but will be acutely aware of the danger that the Tigers are in currently. He will also expect some heavy pressure from Villa with the home crowd looking to raise the roof this Bank Holiday to push on with their European aspirations.

I fancy Carew to score one for the Villa tonight, a fantastic old fashioned style striker with great physical prominence who will look to aggressively attack the Hull back line.

Could be a close one, I would bet on a draw I think or even under 2.5 goals.
