According to a report on the coachingsearch.com website, former Yale head football coach Tom Williams has accepted a job as the safeties coach at Texas El Paso.
I was able to confirm the hire and will have more on the story on Monday.
Williams is a native of Ft. Worth, Tex. who posted a 16-14 record in his three seasons at Yale before resigning in December following an internal investigation into claims that he overstated his credentials as a Rhodes Scholarship candidate when he was at Stanford in the early 1990s.
The UTEP position became available when Al Simmons left to become the co-defensive coordinator at Colorado State.
