Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard believes Sunday's clash with Manchester United is even bigger than Barcelona v Real Madrid.
Liverpool have made a slow start to the season and are without a win in their first four Premier League matches this season.
Gerrard is keen to help the club record their first win of the season against their rivals, and believes their is no bigger fixture in club football.
"For me, it’s the biggest [game] because the Premier League is the biggest league in the world and these are the two most successful clubs," he told the club’s official website.
"I’m not being biased when I say that - I think Liverpool versus Man Utd is the biggest game. Maybe Barca and Madrid is up there close to that, but for me it’s still this one."
He added: "It’s a massive game – we’re looking for our first [league] win of the season and there would be no-one better for us to start getting three points on the board [against].
"Hopefully then we can go on a run of winning games and move up the league because our start to the season has been inconsistent."
The game is Liverpool's first at home since the findings of an independent panel investigating the Hillsborough disaster were published last week.
