Man Utd, FC Barcelona target Neymar 'should not play in Europe now'

Santos striker Neymar, who has been linked with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester United, should not move to Europe for another three years, according to former Brazil coach Dunga.

Neymar has become one of the most sought-after players in world football over the past twelve months as a result of some superb performances for club and country, and has also been linked with the likes of Chelsea, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain in recent months.

Barcelona are widely expected to win the race to sign the Brazil international if and when he decides to leave South America and move to Europe.

But Dunga believes the £40million-rated 20-year-old should snub a move to one of Europe's elite and instead concentrate on gaining more experience in his homeland.

Speaking at a press conference in Kolkata to promote an exhibition match in December, Dunga said of his compatriot: "He should not play in Europe now. He can take a call after three years.

"He is currently the best player in Brazil but he needs to gain more experience. He is Brazil’s best asset to win trophies.

"For now I feel he should stay in Brazil. If he moves to Europe now, he will have to adapt to a new environment and that could affect his form.

"His target should be to do well in World Cup 2014 and for that it's best if he remains in Brazil."

Neymar is out of contract in 2014.
