Manchester United Transfer News: Are United Interested in Richmond Boakye?

After a successful summer transfer window that has helped them significantly so far this season, Manchester United are believed to be interested in making more acquisitions over the January transfer window, with a number of world-class players linked to a move to Old Trafford.
The latest player linked to the Red Devils is Juventus starlet Richmond Boakye, whom Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to be keeping tabs on this season.
Per the latest report in Talksport:
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is keeping tabs on Ghana (sic) starlet Richmond Boakye. His exploits for Sassuolo [had] attracted the interest of Juventus, and the Serie A champions took him to Turin in July before loaning him back to the second tier team.
The striker, who earned senior international recognition earlier this year, has continued his good form this season and he has been scouted by United.
Other sources claim that Ferguson has indeed heard good reports about the teenage sensation from scouts who went and watched him play already this year.
But is he the latest United transfer target or just another name thrown around in the transfer window—a player who would be nice to have, but who, in reality, will never land at United?
For Boakye, I think it's more of the latter.

The Serie A champions only just signed the Ghanaian international several months ago and, as such, his contract is not set to expire any time soon. Juventus might have allowed him to go back on loan to the Serie B, but should he continue his strong start to the year, the Italian giants will do everything they can to make sure he is in their squad as soon as possible.
Besides, Manchester United simply isn't the place for a young striker to get good minutes—especially now that they have signed Angelo Henriquez also.
The Red Devils have one of the most formidable striking corps in the English Premier League in Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez, and with players like Henriquez waiting in the wings, there simply doesn't appear to be room for another young star.
Sir Alex Ferguson would be better served picking up a defender or a midfielder—not another striker—and boosting the Red Devils squad for the year ahead.
I just can't see any deal for Boayke happening.
Not this season, anyway.
