The 27-year-old Rossoneri midfielder has defended his side, and says that he made the right decision in the summer by choosing to switch to the Giuseppe Meazza team
The Italy international made the switch to San Siro this summer from Fiorentina, but Massimiliano Allegri's side have won just two Serie A games this term.
However, the 27-year-old is adamant that he made the right decision in moving to his new club and is happy with life at the Lombardy giants.
"It is true that Milan are going through a tough time but I have never regretted this decision," he told reporters.
"When I left Fiorentina I wanted to make a change and Milan was ideal. I remain confident that Milan will be competitive again very soon.

"Milan have changed objectives because of the economy, and now it is essential to bring young players through at the club, which takes time."
Meanwhile, Italy have also come in for criticism after a slow start to their 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign, but Montolivo has voiced his support for coach Cesare Prandelli, following their 3-1 win against Armenia.
"Prandelli is right and his thoughts are shared by many of us. Straight after the [Armenia] game we felt we had done well in spite of a few mistakes and while we need to improve still, comments about Prandelli were unfair.
"Football has changed. You cannot think about going away and dominating. Only Spain can afford to do so."
