Admit it? We all have had enough of boring club T-shirts and club football! Everyone is waiting for the real thing in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. And what better way to start than to have a look at the dazzling team jerseys for this year's mega-event in Brazil. While some countries have clearly gone overboard with their kit colours, some have not even tried. There are others jerseys, however, you should not wait to catch a hold of. Let's have a look at the five best and the five worst team jerseys for the most awaited event of the year, the FIFA World Cup!

The Five Best Jerseys for the 2014 FIFA World Cup

Cameroon

Only one word can describe the new Cameroon jersey for the World Cup-Wow! From sleeveless jerseys to exotic dances, the brand of football in this country has always been wild and crazy, but nonetheless charming and impressive, to say the least! This year the Cameroon shirt besides being green has dominating cave paintings, representation of a lion figure and so many other details to get lost into. A "Les lions imdomptables" slogan and a sewn-on lion badge make the shirt even more powerful.

Russia

With a dark red design and golden Adidas stripes, the Russian jersey for this year's World Cup is full of exuberance and seems to send a message of players being 'game for anything'. A Russian term in the country's language meaning 'Let's Go' is printed on the back, words that were first used by Yuri Gagarin when he became the first human to enter space in 1961.

Brazil

Brazil's yellow-and-green jersey is 'hard work' personified and has been loved by football fans around the world ever since it came into inception. When you see these colours, the image of 'play hard and party hard', and the mood to get into the FIFA World Cup action starts swinging inside your mind. This season, some minor, innovative changes to the Nike design have made the shirt even more appealing.

Argentina

Argentina is one country always known for its spirit of football. And in their blue-striped white jersey, they always look like a team in great shape. Lionel Messi is a great prospect for them and some call him even more intelligent than Diego Maradona. Unfortunately, this year, their colours would be subject to a lot of abuse by Brazilian fans, since the two countries have always been rivals in world football.

Germany

The German jersey has always been one setting international standards, and projecting an image that suggests the team's players have just been on a successful grand world tour. The dominant white, red and black colours have always spoken for themselves along with the team's success. However, this year, a red breastplate has given Germany a makeover that has already made them look like World Cup champions.

The Five Worst Jerseys for the 2014 FIFA World Cup

Italy

Although Italy have never had issues of inspiration when it comes to fashion design, but their international jersey, all these years, has been neither eye-catching nor beautiful. A lot of love and fanfare is associated with this team and the shirts should be a reflection of that love rather than plain blue. They have tried to break the monotony this year, with flags on either sleeve, but it still looks drab. Wearing the Italian jersey is itself a matter of pride though!

United States of America

If I were to recommend anything to the USA team kit designers, I would tell them about the rich history of native America. There could be something that took us to 'once-upon-a-time' rather than a plain, gym-like white jersey and an All-Stars-type logo inside that is not even visible.

England

The England international jersey has always been regarded as a classic but still, there is nothing radical about the plain-white design. If anything, it is not something you can't give a miss and for a country with the best football league in the world, you have got to expect something better.

Iran

It seems like this middle-east country is unknown to the rich tones in shirts of some of the other countries and has mistaken red for being perennially bright. When Iran play against Nigeria, Bosnia Herzegovina and powerhouses Argentina, they will have to look somewhere else for inspiration than to their own kits. Iran's away jersey was certainly better than this one.

Honduras

The Honduras shirt has failed miserably to give a 'prosperous' look it aimed at achieving. The country has succeeded when it comes to making it to the World Cup despite the tough North American group but it's plain-white and blue-collared jersey needs a serious uplift!

Barring some minor hitches in the buildup to the FIFA World Cup, the teams are ready to play and the Samba drums are ready to roll!
