Del Bosque: More to Spanish football than just Real Madrid and Barcelona 13-07-2012

Vicente del Bosque has called for the controversy regarding the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) decision to revoke the suspensions incurred by Jose Mourinho and Tito Vilanova ahead of next month's Spanish Supercopa to stop.

The coaches were originally banned from the dugout for the curtain-raiser following their part in the fracas that ensued after Barcelona's victory over Real Madrid in last year's clash, which saw the Blancos boss gouge the eye of Pep Guardiola's former assistant.

Their suspensions have since been overturned by the Spanish governing body, but the news has been met with a mixed reaction, with the Barca camp, most notably, critical of the federation's decision, but the national team boss believes there is more to discuss in Spain than just the Clasico giants.

"Spanish football cannot be reduced only to Real Madrid and Barcelona," Del Bosque said at a press conference. "The pardon of the RFEF is a measure of grace in the face of Spanish football as a whole."

The first leg of the encounter will be played on August 21 at Camp Nou.
